Andre Citroen:The Man & The Motor Cars

by John Reynolds Code: 3818 Format: Hardback / 238 pages Publication date: 01/07/1996 Availability: Sold Out Price: AU $44.95
A successful gear manufacturer - the double chevron Citroën badge comes from the shape of double helical gears - Andre Citroën built and operated a munitions factory at Quai de Javel on the Seine at Paris during World War I. In 1919 the first Citroën car was produced in that factory and Citroën was a leader in innovative design until his death in 1935. His Traction Avant, released in 1934, bankrupted the company but stayed in production for over 20 years, proof of its leadership in design. An amazing story of an amazing man.
